Understanding the Basic Concepts
Users
For the purposes of the TurnKey Lender system and Knowledge Base documentation, “users” are back-office users who have access to the back-office application (AKA “Lender’s portal”). Borrowers having access to the Borrower’s Portal and Investors using the Investor's Portal are NOT covered by the term Users.
User Roles and Permissions
Each user created in the system is granted a specific set of permissions. The permissions define what actions the user can perform in the system. Please see the User Permissions article to learn more on the matter.
In the real life, a specific set of permissions is often held by people that perform the same or similar roles in the company. Technically, roles are not entities in the system, but for that sake of convenience, system documentation and some of the hints and explanations can use names of the roles. Please see the Roles and Permissions article to see how they are mapped.
Investors
Branches
The “branch offices” and “subbranches”, usually referred in the system and documentation as “branches” are virtual representation of the company structure. In fact, subject to the company’s decision, they may represent any allocated part of the company, e.g. a branch office, subsidiary, subdivision, department, unit, etc.
Populating the system with branches and subbranches, system administrator can replicate real structure of the company in the application, as well as add additional allocations should this be required by the company’s loan processing logic.
Branches and Permissions
Each user can be assigned to a specific branch, set of branches or all branches available in the system.
Each loan application can be assigned to a specific branch, set of branches or not limited to any branch.
All the permissions assigned to the user are only applicable when working with the loans assigned to branches available for the user or (optionally) loans not assigned to any branch.
